Route des Grands Crus

The route des grands crus or the road of the great wines roughly starts just below Dijon until Santenay. It passes through many great appellations of the region hence the name.

From what I understand, this region produce the best wines because of it's unique micro-climate and soil composition. That is why Burgundy wines are classified based on geography (village and elavation, etc..) regardless of producer. Imagine, most of the red wines are made only of pinot noir grapes but if you will go through a wine tasting of different wines from different villages it is very impressive how each one will vary in taste and texture. You can read more about this in wine-centered websites because I am not a wine expert.
Personally, I love Burgundy wines. Although I will never buy any grands crus bottle, even the regional appellations are better than most.

Where is Spock?

Well, I realized that I may have gone a little bit too far in my ambition to furnish our new apartment in a modern contemporary style with a Filipino twist when a few friends asked me upon entering our flat "wow! where is Spock?".

At least my out of this world taste is along the lines of Star Trek and not Alien. Anyway, I'm standing firm on this one.

La Jolla and San Diego California

La Jolla, San Diego, California will always be close to my heart because of 4 things:

1. Good friends.
2. Good food.
I did not care much about Mexican food before coming to San Diego. Now, I just can't live without it.
I get teary eyed just remembering these barbequed ribs...

3. The beach
Light and fine sand beach very near the city... and seals live there too! What more can you ask for?

4. Huge Margaritas
Freds. I will always remember this place for having aquarium sized margaritas for 5 USD!
